News to share: Angela Carpenter, CNM

by Monarch Women's Wellness on March 24, 2014 · 70 comments

Angela Carpenter, CNMIt is with very heavy hearts, we must announce that Angela Carpenter has had to relocate out of the area due to personal reasons. We know this is sudden and taking many of our patients by surprise. Angela will be very missed, not only by our staff at Monarch, but also by her patients.

We also want to reassure Angela’s patients that all of the staff at Monarch will work together to accommodate your needs and continue to provide you with excellent care. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office at 757-673-8383.Β  Please see Angela’s farewell below. We hope you will join us in wishing Angela the very best by leaving your comments below.

Dear Monarch Patients:

After almost 5 years of working for Dr. Rebecca Thibodeau Khan and Dr. Rachel Lee, it is with GREAT sadness that I must resign as their Nurse-Midwife. I have had some unforeseen changes in my personal life that have led me to suddenly relocate out of the Hampton Roads area. I have known these physicians for over a decade and they have been and always will be family to me.

I am humbled by the love and support that I have received from my Monarch family, and even more humbled by all of the lives I have been allowed to touch while there. I had the pleasure of being a part of 557 births and I was affected by each one of them. I want to thank all of the patients who allowed me to be part of their lives. In each instance, you have changed me and allowed me to grow. I will miss you all.

Sincerely,
Angela Carpenter, CNM

Angela, I am beyond sad to see you go. You have been an amazing part of my pregnancies and delivered my first Bristol and saw me through most of my second pregnancy and after with Jamie. I was hoping if we were blessed with a third you would deliver that baby too. Please know you have touched our lives in the most special way and your humor and grace were always appreciated. I hope where ever you are going turns out positive and that you are dearly missed. Thank you for being you!

Angela,

πŸ™ I can’t tell you how much your role in the birth of my boys Brody and Logan, has meant to me. I drove 40 minutes each way to be in your care. I am grateful for your loving soul, your happy spirit and you trust in a woman’s body and the process. You helped me shine on the days my boys came earth side and truly changed the way I thought of birth. You empower women. So thank you! We love you and wish you the very best in your future xoxo!

I just wanted to say how wonderful you were during the delivery of my 2nd son Levi. I had an epidural with my first but because Levi came so quickly I was not able to have that with him. I was so scared but your confidence and encouragement got me through that delivery. You are very gifted and I know you will continue to bless many more lives with the abilities God has given you. Prayers and blessings! Jamie Stewart

So sorry to hear you are leaving Monarch. You were a great asset and I am sure everyone will miss you. When I met you in school, I would have never guessed we will meet again, let alone you delivering my baby. You did an awesome job reacting calmly, and quickly when my daughter had the cord wrapped around her neck to save her. That was the best labor and delivery, despite the pain. May God continue to bless you as you bless women and I pray for and your situation.

I am deeply saddened to see Ms. Carpenter leave. I have seen numerous physicians in the past, and she was the only one to discover the true nature of my medical condition. Although I’ve only seen her on three occasions, I was impressed by her professional manner. Initially intimidated by her straightforwardness, I came to appreciate her genuiness. She displayed that she really cared about my medical needs. It is rare to find that kind of customer service in the medical profession these days. I had become accustomed to being rushed in and out of the doctor’s office (not this particular office, of course). However, she was patient, listened to my issue, and developed a medical treatment plan for me. Thank you for all you have done to ensure my medical issues were resolved. Your expertise will be greatly missed. Be blessed in any future endeavors.

You will always be part of our family as you saw me throughout my 1st pregnancy and finally delivered my now feisty 2 1/2 year old in October of 2011. I’d always wanted to bring her by so you could see how she’s grown. I still remember you holding her up and announcing “it’s a girl!” because we had waited to find out her gender at birth. We had a good experience with you and still talk about you fondly. You had such a down to earth, bubbly personality and made me feel comfortable with everything. As you transition into new things, we wish you the best and pray God’s blessings on you and all you love. We’ll miss you though…

The other place we were at was so cold and didnt provide us with any info or comfort. You eased our minds and souls. So upon finding out we were having a baby un January,we knew we wanted to cme back to you.It saddens me that you will no longer be there, but I pray that this finds you and your family in God’s healing hands.I hope all is well. Ms. Angela,

We are heartbroken to see you go! You were an amazing coach as you delivered my first little man in Feb 2013. You created one of the most calming and beautiful experiences anyone could ever hope for. We were looking forward to (hopefully) having the same experience in Aug 2014 for the delivery of our next little one. If there is one thing I will always remember, it was how fortunate we were to cross paths with you. You have an amazing spirit and ability and the people that now get to share that with you are incredibly lucky! We wish you and your family happiness and health as you take this next step in your life.

With our prayers and love,
